LLB022: Engrave the Light-Up Pen
Secure the cylindrical pen, remove the exterior coating cleanly, and create a readable personalized result.
MISSION OBJECTIVE
Engrave a Clean, Readable Pen
Remove the exterior coating cleanly without allowing the pen to roll or the artwork to double. The finished engraving should be readable at normal viewing distance and aligned with the way the pen is held or displayed.
PRE-FLIGHT CHECK
Secure the Pen
Choose the Orientation
- Decide which side should face the user
- Keep the artwork parallel to the pen body
- Confirm the clip and lighted end are oriented correctly
Prevent Rolling
- Use a secure pen jig or rotary setup when required
- Support the pen without covering the engraving area
- Frame the artwork before starting
Use Readable Artwork
- Favor bold fonts and simple logos
- Avoid very fine lines on the first test
- Keep enough margin from hardware and transitions
BASELINE PROTOCOL
Engrave the Pen
Prepare the artwork
Build a compact layout that fits the usable engraving length. Use a short test line or small symbol before committing the final design.
Load the pen
Place the pen in a secure jig or rotary setup. Confirm that it cannot roll, twist, or flex during engraving.
Set focus and frame
Focus at the surface being engraved. Frame the complete artwork and confirm clearance from the clip, tip, button, and lighted components.
Run the test
Use the tested starting point for the closest machine. Check whether the coating is removed cleanly and the exposed mark is readable.
Engrave the final design
Make only the needed adjustment, then run the final artwork without moving the pen between framing and engraving.
Clean and inspect
Wipe away loose residue with a clean microfiber cloth. Check the mark from multiple angles and test the pen's writing and light functions.
Photograph it in the bundle
Show the pen inside the journal sleeve or beside the journal and bookmark so customers understand the complete offer.

QUALITY CHECK
Finished Pen Standards
TROUBLESHOOTING
Common Failures
Double lines
The pen moved or rolled during engraving. Improve the jig or rotary setup and verify stability before rerunning.
Weak or incomplete mark
The coating may not be fully removed. Adjust power or speed in small increments and confirm focus.
Rough or overheated mark
Heat input may be too high. Reduce power, increase speed, or improve focus before testing again.
Artwork looks crooked
The pen was not aligned with the artwork axis. Add a straight reference line to the jig and reframe before engraving.
